He declared this when he paid an unscheduled inspection visit to the Integrated Emergency Medical Centre and the Mother and Child Hospital, Laje road Ondo on Sunday.
The Governor who expressed satisfaction with the level of work at the centre assured that the projects will be delivered and commissioned soon to provide better medical services to the people of the state.
“Between the last time we were here and now, I have noticed considerable improvement. The standard of work is generally acceptable. I am satisfied with what I have seen. We are in a hurry to commission these facilities for our people,” he said.
He said the medical centre when completed will be first of its kind in Africa.
“What we have here is going to be perhaps the first of its kind as Integrated Emergency Medical Services Centre and the Mother and Child Hospital.”
“We are excited with the work because I am thinking of how to take care of the people of the state in these centres,” Mimiko stressed.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr Dayo Adeyanju, who took the Governor round the centres said the State Government is committed to the medical care of the people of Ondo State.
He assured that the centres will be opened as soon as possible to continue to save the lives of the people.
Adeyanju said the project is also being replicated in Owo to provide qualitative health care across the state.
“As we are doing this, we are doing that of Owo. The government remains committed to saving lives and ensuring providing good qualitative health care for the people of Ondo State”, he said.
The emergency medical service which has got to advanced stage by all standard has the Trauma Centre, Mother and Child Hospital and the Doctors quarters on completion.
